RecordPad Sound Recorder for Mac 4.01 is a sound recording tool rolled out by NCH Software for Mac users. Its sophisticated features allow you to record sound clips from any source - be it a microphone, a line in, or even the files being played by your Web browser, or a media player. Well, there are plenty of such software for the Windows platform, but when it comes to Mac users, they simply don’t have the luxury of so many options at their disposal. May be because of that factor, alongside the quality features provided by the software pretty much explains its fast growing popularity in the market.
To begin with, upon being launched, RecordPad Sound Recorder for Mac 4.01 opens up with a fairly attractive user interface that won’t disappoint you. Working with the software is pretty much on the easier side as it does not involve any complications whatsoever, and comes equipped with a bundle of simplified and easy-to-handle controls and settings. As mentioned already, the program allows you to record sound from multiple sources including microphone, line in and stereo mix; one at a time though- but then, that’s pretty obvious. The output file can be saved into mp3 or wav file format. However considering how most of the other similar products (particularly the Windows based ones) allows you to save the output files in various other formats as well (such as ogg, aicc, rm etc.), compatibility with only two file formats could be considered as a disadvantage of the software. The price factor is also pretty much on the satisfactory side if you are looking for a budget product.
All in all, it’s a fairly easy to use software with an extensive set of quality features and a user friendly interface. Hence it certainly deserves a score of four rating points out of five.
